Guided Tours of McHenry Mansion

Our guided tours allow visitors to explore the home’s exquisite architecture, antique furnishings, and rich history. Our knowledgeable docents lead engaging tours, sharing stories about the original owners and the home’s restoration. Best of all, these tours are completely free, making it easy for everyone to enjoy this remarkable landmark.

Tour Schedule

  • Fridays, Sundays, and Mondays from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Closed the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve
Tours begin at the Visitor Center, 924 15th Street, at 12:30 p.m. and then every half hour until 3:30 p.m. Visitors should arrive ten minutes before the scheduled tour time to view a short video about its history and the renovations that have taken place. A docent will then take you for a personal, guided 45-minute walk through the first and second floors of the Mansion. The last tour at 3:30 p.m. will be a shorter tour of the first floor only. After your tour, you are welcome to spend some time on the grounds or return to the Visitor Center to browse through our Gift Store. No reservations are needed. If you arrive at the same time a group is leaving, you have the option to join that group, if size permits, or wait for the next tour.
